Tone (LLM Context)

For English analysis runs, XAudient classifies each AI mention as positive, neutral, or negative based on the descriptors used around a brand reference. English runs use a keyword indicator. Italian runs are AI-assessed where enough answers could be assessed, and marked Provisional. Otherwise Tone is reported as not measured.

Classification Rubric

  • Positive — Enthusiastic endorsement, benefit statements, or phrases like “best”, “ideal for”, “highly recommended”.
  • Neutral — Factual descriptions without qualitative evaluation (“BrandX offers workflow automation”).
  • Negative — Cautionary language, drawbacks, or explicit warnings (“BrandX lacks integrations”).

How It Influences SAV and WSAV

Tone does not change SAV, which counts mentions only. It is one of the two weights in WSAV: at the same position, a positive mention counts more and a negative one less. Where Tone is not measured, WSAV is reported as not measured.

Operational Uses

  • Identify product gaps that AI assistants highlight versus competitors.
  • Feed customer marketing teams with phrasing guidance for provider-specific content.
  • Track the impact of launches or fixes on qualitative perception month over month.
